Plateau High Court Trains Staff on Electronic Court Management System
In line with the vision of the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice D. G. Mann, to fully integrate technology into court operations, over 180 staff of the Plateau State High Court commenced intensive hands-on training on Electronic Court Management System (ECMS) aimed at ensuring a breakthrough in digitizing Judicial Processes in the State.
Speaking on the bold step taken by the Plateau State High Court, the Ag Deputy Chief Registrar, ICT and Library Services, Kyura Wakkias noted that the training is focused on commissioners for oaths, registrars, management staff, and accounts personnel, beginning with the introduction of e-affidavit services.
According to Wakkias, the digital transition will make it easier for citizens to access justice from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the stress and cost of traveling physically to the High Court.
Resource person for the exercise, Solomon Adetunbi, a consultant with Century Information Limited, guided participants through the theoretical and practical application of the system.
In his words, he emphasized that the innovation will phase out manual processes, reduce stress for citizens, improve data safety, and make verification of records easier.
Some participants, including Yetyum Amanda Hassan and Inah Joseph, expressed confidence that the training will boost efficiency and enhance service delivery in the judiciary.
The training exercise, which kicked off with staff from the Northern Senatorial District, will continue in phases/batches to cover the Central and Southern Senatorial zones.
